MAKING SHOWBUSINESS YOUR BUSINESS

MAKING SHOWBUSINESS YOUR BUSINESS

This new course is aimed at Professional Actors and Drama School Graduates wanting to workshop and network with Leading Industry Professionals.  The course consists of one weekly workshop for two months and concludes with the actors performing in a live showcase in central London.

  • Workshop 1

Actors will focus on the audition process led by Technique Specialist John Melainey.  John will help improve your audition skills and how to audition effectively. He will identify the regular pitfalls that actors some times fall in to when they have a casting.  You will also get the chance to get in front of the camera. John has worked for many years for the one of the world’s leading Casting Companies - Hubbard Casting.

  • Workshop 2

Audition Technique and Casting Advice workshop with a Leading Casting Director. This class will help you fully understand the Casting process from a CD’s point of view.  Regular questions asked are ‘What playing age should I put on my cv?’  ‘How do I approach Casting Directors?’  ‘What makes a good headshot?’  The Casting Director will also work with you on scripts and give you advice on fine tuning your audition technique and how you make the most of your time when you get in to the audition room.

  • Workshop 3

You will meet the director of your showcase. They will discuss with you what material you would like to perform. They will focus with you on selecting scenes that will show your strengths as an actor.

  • Workshop 4

This workshop concentrates on the business of acting. Agent advice and learning effective ways to market yourself as an actor.

Actors will be given practical advice on finding an agent and successfully running an acting career. This session will be run by an established acting agent who will try and answer questions most frequently asked by actors.

  • Workshop 5
